Dining room inventory checklist for an insurance claim
Include fine china and anything in the hutch. Use this list to jog your memory when you document a fire, flood, smoke or theft loss. The prices are typical mid-range replacement costs for new items in the US. Adjust them to what you actually owned. A dining room with just these items adds up to about $5,500 at replacement cost.

Tips for listing your dining room
- List items separately with quantity. "Kitchen stuff, $2,000" will be rejected; "Pots & pans set (10 pc, Calphalon), qty 1, $300" won't.
- Include brand and model wherever you remember them. They justify a higher replacement cost.
- Estimate age honestly. Depreciation is calculated from age, and adjusters check plausibility.
- Look through old photos, social media posts, Amazon and credit card order history, and phone videos for items you've forgotten.
